snails, worms, and other losses
darkness
silken exploration of tongues
lose yourself
to the small gnawing mouths
that peel your layers away
like sand
against your shell
darkness
serpentine blind fingers
snake delicately through
the hunger
of first spring green
the blaze
of burnt grass
in this pure world
where darkness pulls
your colors
home into its sheer
translucent skin
lose yourself

This was written for "Poetry Project"-- since this title
(one of their non-optional choices) intrigued me so much!

your world
how easily you fly
how easily you open
doors
in the night sky
of course
these are your trails
crossing this dark plain
and your hand brushing the trees
with moonlight
and your body
lifting me
like a waterfall
and your world
filled with nothing
that I would give everything
for
how easily you open
doors
in the night sky
of course

spit from God's mouth
they banned you from Heaven
while God
you thought
stood by
now your eyes
turn sideways in the sky
like torn clouds
not that we care
about the spit stains
in your heart
or the soft hairs on your neck
or your hopeful fingers
like letters
misaddressed
when God give birth to you
did He piss you out
with damp relief
gazing down
as His life blood flowed
into the radiant fluid
that made you
crystalline
tall and straight
like spit
from God's mouth
while God
you thought
stood by
now your eyes
turn sideways in the sky
like torn clouds
not that we care
about the spit stains
in your heart
or the soft hairs on your neck
