your world

how easily you fly

how easily you open
doors
in the night sky

of course
these are your trails
crossing this dark plain

and your hand brushing the trees
with moonlight

and your body
lifting me
like a waterfall

and your world
filled with nothing

that I would give everything
for

Oh, Pat, you are so sweet--

Of course,
the "easiness" of writing is a lovely illusion
(as you well know)!

I haven't posted much here lately as I've been working madly to finish a full-length poetry manuscript (60 pages) for submission to several contests this spring--I think it's finally in shape for today's deadline!
And so many thanks to you, Pat, for being the first to push me to do it!

With Pat, I keep noticing how easily it appears to come - and the consistency, and how it's unified in terms of the love/nature theme. So doesn't surprise me you'd have at least one ms.

Another thing, maybe: sometimes local bookstores let people read their poems.

Paul--"appears" is the key word here--my muse is making me work hard these days to get anything presentable out!
Thanks for the idea--I braved one poetry reading so far--it was scary but fun! Sometimes there are open mike readings--someday I'll do it again...
I truly appreciate your encouragement, as always!

Pat--I sure hope you are right! The suspense is intense...thanks for your support, couldn't do it without you!

Gautami--Oh, I really needed those hugs! And thanks for the compliment! Hugs and compliments back to you, too...your poems seem effortless quite often...

How I like to run around that last four lines noticing another new meaning each round I finish. Some very sad, some very happy, some, hm, well, I don't know what.

Maybe it's due to the foreign language, but I'd rather think it's due to your intentions. One very moving poem.

If you don't mind I'll try and translate it into german. You'd make me happy if you give your kind permission to do so.

Susanne--I would be very honored if you would translate any of my poems into German--it would mean a lot to me! You have made me very happy simply by saying that...
and I see what you mean about the last four lines--I believe you understand them well...

Hi! I am enjoying exploring your blog as I get time. Your poems and photography are so lovely! And the last line in this one is incredible -- "and your world filled with nothing/ that I would give everything for."
