fare
what would I give
for a day with you
all the time I borrowed
all I own
in a box by the roadside
all the rough tides
that batter my heart
the price
for a ride
on your body of cloud
for holding you close
like a leaf holds the wind
everything, you ask
for one ticket
to turn the sky
for a day with you
all the time I borrowed
all I own
in a box by the roadside
all the rough tides
that batter my heart
the price
for a ride
on your body of cloud
for holding you close
like a leaf holds the wind
everything, you ask
for one ticket
to turn the sky

barriers
are you alive
in these concrete walls
God of stones
did they crush you into dust
when they threw me here
among strangers
was it my soul
I saw shatter
is this the river of my life
floating upward
like soft winter breath
dissolving into mist
as the sun captures
each particle
is this what I have become
remembering
you
who are light enough
to pass
through ice, and iron
through the sheer barricades
of time
you, who never
knew limits
in these concrete walls
God of stones
did they crush you into dust
when they threw me here
among strangers
was it my soul
I saw shatter
is this the river of my life
floating upward
like soft winter breath
dissolving into mist
as the sun captures
each particle
is this what I have become
remembering
you
who are light enough
to pass
through ice, and iron
through the sheer barricades
of time
you, who never
knew limits
