Lorraine--yes I love apples too--these were on my apple tree years ago the year after I planted it--they are called "Freedom" as they are supposed to be more disease-resistant than previous varieties. Unfortunately this tree was run over by a truck and no longer exists. A bear came and ate all my neighbors apples this year, so mine would have been next anyway! Oh, well I haven't had any luck with growing apples.
