sundown
leave your collar of fire
on the horizon
take off your shoes
come barefoot
into my world
roll here
to me
on the fading grass
while your last thoughts
flicker above us
soft, on the bellies
of clouds
shadows grow
in hollows
reaching out to you
touching the red embers
of your skin
roll down into the ocean
of my arms
eyes closed
incognito
being of light
on the horizon
take off your shoes
come barefoot
into my world
roll here
to me
on the fading grass
while your last thoughts
flicker above us
soft, on the bellies
of clouds
shadows grow
in hollows
reaching out to you
touching the red embers
of your skin
roll down into the ocean
of my arms
eyes closed
incognito
being of light

Incognito to all but you, how lovely :)
Lorraine--wow, I like your insight! So good to have your comment...
... incognito, indeed... it's a wonderful blog that you have here... poetry, photography, all, together...
firebird, i have been stressed and my heart as hard as a rock... i knew i needed healing. i came here to find your words and photos and they cracked me open wide. my lament is that i don't take the time to come here everyday. you are beauty, love and healing... so amazing! thank you! big hugs, snowsparkle
Rainbow--I am so happy you came here and commented--love to hear from you! Just wondering-- how did you find your way here? Do you have a blog yourself?
Snowsparkle--Any time you come here, you brighten up my day! And your comments are the best--I am glad that the poems touched you, that is why I write them! (For you, of course...Keep smiling and shedding your light...!)
Wow right from the first line you got my attention. The last stanza is beautiful Firebird. An amazing capture of the embodiment of a sunset. I absolutely love this.
Again a fine poem, my dear bird...
"eyes closed
incognito"
that's the way it should be, loved it my bird....so much of light, I am sometimes blinded!
wishes,
devika
Janice--your lovely comment touches my heart, as always...
Devika--such an intriguing thought in your comment! Maybe that's why I like the end of day so much.
"intriguing" -- when the world is, how much can we save on thoughts to be otherwise, my dear??
of the all time of the day...i like dawn the best...with light just dawning:)
devika
Devika--I agree, the dawn is beautiful--but it's rarely that I am awake at that hour!
"on the bellies of clouds" is a wonderful image. Made my whole day reading your poem.
Your world is a peaceful one.
goatman--Well, you made my day with your comment! I am so touched to have had an effect on your state of mind...
