joy, said the firefly
I planned
for my wings
to pull the air across
your face
just like this
and for
my small flicker of flame
to scorch
for a second
the cloth of your darkness
just like this
and for you
to rise along my
dotted line of lights
above the night's curtain
just like this
surprised you
didn't I
This post (although it's about a firefly) is dedicated to Michael Jackson, who defies gravity, now and forever!

Still my mind says surprise is yet to come....just my dreamy mind! :)
love the title, and the poem, fine as always my dear bird :)
firefly and flowers....the world ought to be too joyous...what I do not understand is why we the thinkers find it hard to make joy out of life! :)
Oh that wasn't complete...
that you dedicated this to Michael Jackson...seems very apt to me,
one of the few who knew how to celebrate life, even defying all logic! :)
love,
dev
Oh it's lovely, and Michael up above, I am sure would love it so much, he'd put music to it...what a beautiful write-up for Michael!
Devika--I'm so glad you like the title--and I know there are many surprises waiting to spring out at you whenever you open your eyes...good ones, of course! Yes, you have described Michael perfectly.
Lorraine--Your comment makes me smile all over, thanks for getting it!
i love your mockingbird's story. michael has an affect on everyone personally. i missed him...<3
Yes keeping my eyes open and fresh, I always do....so it all is a surprise for me! :)
and look at it -- every thing is good...if our perspective isn't distorted, no my dear bird, :)
love,
devika
Devika--I don't think our perspective is distorted if we choose to see the good--it comes into being when we do that! At least that is what the wise ones say...
Kai--I'm glad you liked the mockingbird story! For the rest of you reading--this was a comment I posted on Kai's blog, check out her fabulous poem about Michael Jackson!--click on her name or photo to go there, (it's not her latest post, scroll down)
Yes, my dear I agree cente percent...we need to see the good in things...considering the past, living in the present and looking into future...that last is not in my nature, though :)
devika
WOW. I love it. love it.
yes, you surprised me. thank you firebird.
gracie--love to see you here! Sorry to answer so late--I've been away too long...will visit you too, very soon!
oh only yesterday I thought of reaching here to see/ask for new one, my bird,
and then i left the table and missed the thought later...anyway, when is the new one coming?? :)
and hope all is fine with you, dear...where did you go? :)
wishes,
devika
Devika--here I am, finally! My absence was mostly due to exhaustion from a very demanding (and fun) new job with tons of stuff to learn and new people to please...plus all the usual chores on the home front.
so here's a new poem, better late than never--and thanks for not giving up looking!
