prayer

you are welcome
to touch

the invisible
light

that
reaches towards you
from my hand

do you feel it
flowing

it is the color you see
when you close
your eyelids

a whisper
across the night

my waves breaking
on the edge

of
that space inside you
that has no name

Thanks, Devika--I love the way you describe it--that's just what I am trying for when I write...
although when I try to be less simple and use more words, somehow it doesn't work out!

I am not successful in this, but I think poem should be this way...

I see a Neruda touch in your poems...only that he dealt with more complexities -- that was his life, perhaps

but there's a similarity, i feel....the way simple words are linked to pour a world of emotions :)

i personally do like poetry as an excercise with words..it has be emotions...and then it flows..then only it would flow, no?

i mean logically...it has to be so :)

i personally do NOT like poetry as an excercise with words..

i sometimes miss the most crucial of words..and "Not" is often one :)

Devika--yes, Neruda's ability to share emotions with language is a great inspiration to me--and this is why I still wish I could write in a more lyrical way with more complex sentences, as he does sometimes...perhaps the Spanish language lends itself more to that--
but maybe my short lines are also influenced by him, now that I think about it. He is able to say so much in just a few words-- what a master!

Ah Firebird - it is that light indeed which links us all together though some may not yet be aware of it. I adore the last verse in this - so much insight....Beautiful.

Hello my spirit sister...yes, I felt it! Soaking it in. So simple but so radiant. Sorry took so long to look at the poem, you know I just take care of mom at the hospiatl then come home and collapse until the next morning when I go again, now dealing with replacing things I need for the trip to court to get my husband home since all my travel stuff and luggage was stolen in the robbery. When it rains it pours. Mom was moved to surgery floor yesterday so now we are very nervous about her. Thanks for your love and prayers,
Love, Sheila

Sheila/Bluebirdy--I am honored that you came to spend a few minutes here--certainly was not expecting to be high on your priority list under the circumstances! Hope your Mom's surgery is a success--I don't doubt it will be...Blessings to both of you!

Firebird, thank you so much for your interest in the tufted titmouse tile! I am happy that you would like to purchase it. I'm glad you found me through other bloggers. Please email me at bluelotustile@gmail.com so we can have a better discussion about this. The tufted titmouse I have is only 4 inches. I could re-make it, very easily as a 6" and could also make a few others in fall tones for you to look at (no commitment necessary) just to see if you want to go with more than one. My only problem is time....I will need several weeks to accomplish the remake and its brothers. If you are not in a huge hurry and can wait until I do so, please let me know and I will get to work! :-) I think if you feel y0ou need a 6" it would be worth the wait to get one of the correct size. Email me....I look forward to hearing from you!

every time i visit here i am overwhelmed with jealousy - admiration. i love your work. finely chiseled, precise, exact.

i keep asking - surely you are submitting your work? you must! i expect to see something of your's in a literary journal. i'll open a journal, one with a slick cover with some gorgeous drawing or photo on it - with pages that are smooth and thick and smell of fresh ink. i'll thumb through and some poem will catch my eye and as i read it, i'll swear, that's firebird. that has to be firebird.then i'll rush back to your blog and find the poem here and sit back with a smile on my face.

Marie of the Tiles--Glad to hear from you--will email you to make arrangements.

By the way, you totally read my mind--I was wishing for a photo showing your lovely face instead of this interior scene--and was so happy to see your new profile photo on your blog! ( Now everyone has to go there and see it...)

Bird--Oh, I hate that word, "jealous" but I know the feeling--get a twinge when I read your prose...as in the rest of your comment, for instance--you sure know how to turn a phrase!

If there are any poetry journals that you admire, let me know--I haven't a clue what to look for!
Love that scenario you paint...
