violet of the horizon

I want to leave this earth
and move
to violet

such a shade,
shimmering
on the flanks of mountains

violet, why
do you appear
only when the sky
is closing for the night

and when I cross
the distance
between us
you vanish

into red sunset streaks
on the trees
and blue canyon shadows

but never that
violet
that I love

if I hitch a ride
on the full moon
and roll to your distant edge

if I
strip myself
clean as snow

will you embrace me
with your color
violet
of the horizon

Violet -- Oh wah! I just love violet! :)

You don't have to strip your self white, my bird..

I will love you, always :)
But this is written to someone else -- Any help!? :)

love, my dear

Devika, Lorraine--you are right, this "stripping myself white" sounds very drastic and painful--
but I was writing here about "violet" as a place or a certain state of mind, and what I would have to do to get there...
perhaps I need to rework the poem to make this clear--
meanwhile, thanks for using your imagination with me!

Violet, purple - the colours of seeking. I relate so well to the feelings in this Firebird - I remember longing for violet, for the mystery and awe it wrought inside me. Finally I looked within... and found that awesome mystery...
I love this piece.

The poem is more dreamy now, my dear...much more poetic and I love it much more, this way...

Violet -- signifies dreams, they say. :)

Janice--I love the insights in your comment! I am so glad you have shared the same feelings, and that you found the "mystery within"...and it's funny how violet is the color of "seeking"--for you too!

Devika--thanks for coming back, and I am happy that you like the changes...what would I do without you? (And I hope you are feeling all well very soon, and have pleasant dreams!)

My little grandson Kevin likes violet and always chooses violet/crayon or clothes/.
When I am in violet dress he touches me and speaks - violet, I love violet.

I love violet too.

I think your soul is as clean as snow with violet aura.

Krystyna--Now I can see you in violet, as well as pink! It is a different feeling...that's amazing about Kevin's reaction to violet--very unusual, I think--for a child so young. He is such a dear!
And I love what you say about my "aura"--I'll try to live by it!

Oh my dear bird,

what would I do without you? --- don't be silly, my dear... i am here today, because of you :))

"And I hope you are feeling all well very soon, and have pleasant dreams --"

haha -- I am not able to see a difference between nightmare and dreams now --

one day's dream seems a nightmare next day; a nightmare of pain seems a dream lived through..

all too confused; but then now its kind of settling :)

love,
devika

Devika--Goodness, my dear--it sounds like you are suffering terribly...I hope it passes soon! Sending you healing thoughts, and love...

Lorraine--and thank you for coming back and giving this poem a second chance! Because your heart can only see what is shown...and that was my failing!

Thanks my dear,

I sometimes lose my thoughts terribly
and its bad...
when i am clear -- i feel its all past me...

and in trying to gain myself back -- I deliberately change my mood --

devika

Marie--Thanks, I am so glad you liked the poem!
As I recall, violet is a difficult color to achieve in ceramics...

Do you go to Lorraine's blog also?--I recommend it!
