Japanese willow tree dancers
Self-explanatory? This performance was at the Cherry Blossom Festival (Sakura Matsuri) at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden last Spring (click on photo for more detail)
oh! how strange - my comment was an instinctive reaction to the photo, and now i see lorraine has used exactly the same word to describe her impression.
Devika--Thanks for getting into the feeling of the picture! Even though there are no flowers showing in the scene...now that you mention it! The show was in a tent pavilion set up in the center of a large area of blooming cherry trees--
Lorraine--You got the feeling, too--funny, no-one is mentioning willow trees, I guess cherry blossoms just grab the spotlight, don't they?
Polona--I guess the enchantment is part of the art--how else can we pretend that two young ladies are really spirits of the willow trees? Thanks for your sweet comments!
Whenever I come here I look at this amazing photo - Japanese willow tree dancers Never to much to look at it. You know, in my childhood I live in willage. In my willage and near my house there were many willow tries. Really I liked them, especially for their shadow in sunny day. Willow tree is not only beautiful but it has a good, healthy energy. It is good to have a few willow sprigs in home. It is good to sweep the body using willow sprigs, and then through away those sprigs or burn them. Then body is clean and refresh.
Krystyna--I love your comments on the willow trees--they have always been my favorite of all trees, and it has been my dream to have one to sit under. However, they grow so large, and shed branches so often, that it is hard to find a spot to plant them. (I did plant one, on the edge of a stream in front of my house.) It is very interesting what you say about cleansing with the willow branches. Maybe one day I will try that! They do have such healthy energy! And such a romantic appearance. I am glad you see something special in the photo...

This pic shows much more than dance.
