When I vacationed in Jamaica over the years this was a weed in the hills - and to think we pay 10 to $12 a stem for it here! Such a fascinatingly beautiful flower.

Janice--wow, I'd love to see a whole hill of these flowers! These were at the orchid show, in a large potted display--I thought THAT was impressive...

Devika--now you have me envious of your tropical climate! Thanks for the comment!

D--you have said this enough times now, I am starting to believe it myself. It is easier to love the snow once it has mostly melted...as it is this week--still have some ice in the mornings, but the flowers are starting to wake up...as from a dream--

Oh my dear, you said it so poetically :)

i am one who travels places with books and words -- so feel like I am standing somewhere there in your garden :)

Devika--Aren't we fortunate to have the Internet on which to share our places and dreams! I have difficulty imagining the old days, when it would take weeks to find out about events on the other side of the world! (Or before that when they didn't even know there WAS another side to the world!
Oh, we have it so easy...

Lorraine--I'm glad I could send you some sun--thank you for the compliment...

Hi:)

Enchanting photo of a lovely flower. The flower looks like a bird with colorful plumes. Certainly I would like to have this flower when I go to paradise.

Have a nice day :)

Joseph--Thank you...it sounds like you already live in paradise, with all the orchids!
Perhaps these flowers can grow in your garden, too? I think Devika has them in Kerala, as she mentioned in her comment.
