butterflies
last year
all my flowers
bloomed too late for
the butterflies
in fall
I mowed the
butterfly bushes
to the ground
erasing the stems
over the roots
hesitating in winter
this year
the butterflies and flowers
dance together
not that I asked
but love made a wind
of its own
all my flowers
bloomed too late for
the butterflies
in fall
I mowed the
butterfly bushes
to the ground
erasing the stems
over the roots
hesitating in winter
this year
the butterflies and flowers
dance together
not that I asked
but love made a wind
of its own

this poem - i am not sure, i am getting it right - is there an unhappiness in seeing the happiness of butterflies and flowers around?
no, i don't want to think so,

Devika--I'm always counting on you to tell me when to rewrite--bless you for that!
Let me know if you like the new version...
Yeah, here there is a child-like joy in it -
not that i don't like a realistic or straight-foreard poem, but it was more of poet -- i didn't want to read that you are one who isn't happy with butterflies and flowers -- Because i know you aren't so -- may be the words weren't falling in place...it happens :)
now it is beautiful poem, dear bird :)
wishes,
devika
*straight-forward poem, i meant to say
Let me add -what i write in the name of poem, is often that -- realistic, sad or straightforward -- joy is not a subject of my writings, even if i want to write it...it doesn't turn out so in the end :)
that's why i like your beautiful poems, dear bird :)
wishes,
devika
Devika--You have made my day! I am so glad you felt joy in the poem--that is why I write! Thank you again for telling me it didn't come through...
Oh, the pleasure is all ours, when it is a joyrful poem, dear bird :)

the way mood swings... is the way you have swung the whole thought or rather can say your belief towards happenings...
Bhargav--You have such an interesting way of putting into words, the meaning of the poem to me--love your comment!
Spectacular and thank God
Lorraine--such glowing words...bring it on! I'm speechless.
