Devika--Sea lions are kind of clunky on land, but swim like totally graceful creatures in the sea! And they have sweet personalities...you would like them in person, at the zoo. Late, maybe, but I knew you would be here!
The photo with the poem and its title work at more than one level. Global warming and how rapidly we're now moving toward "sundown" for the polar bear and sea lion ends up being a part of my own response.
Paul--Gracious! I had not thought of the connection with global warming, was too busy watching them play at the zoo...such a sheltered existence! Of course we in NYC are doomed if the sea levels rise a few feet--my house is only 16 feet above sea level and not far from the beach. And here I was thinking of "sundown" as a time of peace...
