lake speaks

I knew I was a mirror
when I stretched myself
wide and shining
shore to shore

but who knew
that the sky
would lean down
to its reflection
and fall

who knew
that these two
limitless forests of blue
were one
with no horizon

who knew
I was
the color
of the sky

quite interesting and natural that after the previous theme of understanding comes this theme of knowing :)

Nice poem, my dear bird...connecting the conflicting elements of nature and man -- despite the tone of scceptance,

wishes,
devika

Devika--You are right, of course--I do need to finish the poem I'm working on, and post it--when I have a minute to concentrate!
Thanks for caring enough to remind me!

Gosh glad I found you again Firebird...your poems are always thought-provoking, inspiring and unique.
A blue sky with no horizon...would that all reach that place of oneness.

That poem was beautiful! The title and the very first line caught my attention right away, and I really felt what you were expressing.
