more ancient than air
come out, you say
into this element
love has a heaviness
to rest your head upon
come out, you say
love has a shape
to hold us
when we slip like shadows
into the night
stepping into
the bare current
come out, you say
there is no breaking
in this element
more ancient
than air
into this element
love has a heaviness
to rest your head upon
come out, you say
love has a shape
to hold us
when we slip like shadows
into the night
stepping into
the bare current
come out, you say
there is no breaking
in this element
more ancient
than air

devika
yes...it's the only thing that holds me...more ancient than air, oh I love this pretty bird!
must think.... will return....
Devika--your comments always make my day--even though this answer is late, I can read the comments on my Blackberry, just can't find a way to write on the blog from there...
Lorraine--I'm so glad that you feel the poem! And I see from your photos that you do...
Hayden--Think as long as you like--it's a good thing...and return soon, hopefully!
Like others I'm totally captivated by the phrase "more ancient than air" - an extraordinary analogy Firebird. One can imagine a knight convincing a young maiden with these words of your poem...
Janice--oh, that's such a charming image--a knight and maiden! I can just see that...Thanks so much for your insight!
