understand the night
understand the night
stand under it
as if it were your soul
poured over you
understand the night's design
the beat and hush
of great wings opening
the moon is dark
by whose light
do you catch
the glow
in its hollows and crevices
stand under it
as if it were your soul
poured over you
stand under it
as if it were your soul
poured over you
understand the night's design
the beat and hush
of great wings opening
the moon is dark
by whose light
do you catch
the glow
in its hollows and crevices
stand under it
as if it were your soul
poured over you

Not very hard to understand, after such a beautiful poem, my dear bird :)
The best thing about this poem is enlivens our soul, more than anything else -- beautiful, as always...and the message, to understand, one must stand under...submit one self :)

Devika--wow, I am overwhelmed by the way you have cut to the heart of the poem--more clearly than I had even been aware of myself!
Thanks for the gift of your perception, and your willingness to share it!
Don't tell me that, my dear :)
btw, i have a reference to your poem at my blog on today's post -- Hope you don't mind me doing that :)
wishes,
devika
Devika--I'm so honored that you put a reference to my poem on your blog--thanks!

Lovely. Beat and hush of great wings brought Great Horned Owl to me, that sentinel of night and Wisdom, which is light....
Thank you, Hayden, for bringing the great owl to life!
I have a very small owl as a helper, but he can bring his friends when needed...
I will. I have to. Thanks m'dear
Hayden--my little owl helper grew up, now he has a great wingspan!
Lorraine--Thanks, I know you will, you are deeply perceptive.
