so many ways to stop time

so many ways
to stop time

that trickles down
like water
through a starry colander

onto the inert
snoring earth

upon which we
experiment
chirping a new melody

to the small flock of
molecules
that flutter
in and out of our arms

distracted
from their forward motion

into a swarm
of skittering jewels

I tried looking at molecules in my hand. I practically visualised it.
Yes, I agree we can stop time!

gracie--Thank you so much!
What a lovely comment--glad to see you!

pat--I guess love can do it--
but we don't need outside help to do our own experiments, do we?

gautami--I can just imagine you doing that! I'm sure you have that talent...

catnapping--you're welcome to curl up and take a nap here--whenever you want! Thanks for the comment!

You have some alliterative-type things going on, and I like the whole, but if I may daresay:

Snoring?

This word be silly.

Is that a compliment, Percy?

You realize, of course, that "silly" is a necessary ingredient for stopping time...
One word only? That can't be! I could have sworn there were more...

Nay, twas the only silly word.

Another good silly word is "chicken." Perchance one day I shall write of a sonorously snoring chicken who would feign cackle and yet could not...
