ss--Becky was named by the daughter of the kind lady that rescued her-- Poor thing was abandoned and tied to a tree--but she couldn't keep her as her (also rescued) female pit bull would not tolerate Becky's presence... I found Becky through a rescue agency at www.petfinders.com--many pets are waiting for new homes there...check it out!
Billy--The black tongue probably means she is a Chow mix--she certainly could be part border collie--I love that breed!
/t.--You are so perceptive! Becky is hot in this picture, she will very soon get a haircut (I can't bring myself to shave her)-- And don't even let her hear you say "swim"-- she's dying to go into the water, but gets a skin rash from her ocean swims--can't let her go in anymore (howl, whine, scratch...)
What a beautiful dog. I can't tell the size but she is definatly part chow.
Border Collies have darker fur, my grandfather breeds them. So I doubt that she is part that, but she could be part Shetland Collie, she has the markings and thick fur for that.

So sweet!
Just like her mother a very beautiful girl!!
gautami, thank you--she's usually a sweet girl--except for chasing the cat--
pat--you noticed the resemblance!
I'll tell her you said so...
how did you arrive at becky's name? she looks like a brilliant and loving friend... just like you!
Black tongue... I've always heard the smartest dogs have the blackest tongues. And a Border Collie-- Becky must be a great friend.
As for chasing the cat, she's probably just practicing her herding skills.
little becky
looks a bit warm
maybe she needs a shave
or a least a cool swim...

I don't see the border collie myself, in this shot at least. But lots o' chow there! Like fuzzy little bears, they are!
