Hi Kai--thanks for visiting me and my tiger--I had a quiet xmas, not as exciting as yours...but that's how I wanted it!

Lorraine--I would say I was about as far as it looks...but with a thick plexiglas barrier! I think he could probably see us humans but didn't seem the slight bit interested. Maybe without the barrier...? It's still thrilling to be so close to such an extraordinary creature!

Devika--Not distracted by me, that's for sure! I don't know what was going on in his mind--but his face seems very intense, I think tigers always seem that way to me.
Thanks for coming by on your "holiday"!

Devika--I wouldn't have known whether he was male, except that there were signs posted to tell them apart--there was one male and one female, that I could see, and the female was smaller.
He was scarier-looking, too.

Thank you dear bird :)

Best year- mine is past; 2003 it was....and no year can that good --the year i was with my father, after all those years of friendly fights...not fighting with him, but just listening him, his stories :)

But yes, each year brings with it surprises....and Hope 2010 brings pleasant ones :)

devika

I'd heard about certain bees and other plant and insect species migrating north with global warming, but had no idea...

Devika--it makes me shiver when I hear you say "no year can be that good"--as if it was all downhill since then--but you sound more hopeful afterward, I wish you not only better years than you can imagine, but the expectation that they will come!

Paul--I think you are very logical in your train of thought--that is, if Siberia is South of NYC...I do believe he is a Siberian tiger, they are heftier and less orange than the Bengal variety...

No, no downhill or uphill in my life..and I don't seek to climb any hill with my life!! :))

I have enjoyed life, all my life, in all its complexities...simplifying things as much as possible....and still doing it....But, just that, that year will be the most cherished of all the years in my life...I was just being sure about that :)

Expectation, or the commonly called Hope is a good thing to hold on....In expecting the unexpected (or rather unexpectations) is the thrill of life, i guess

I am amazed by the things that make people shiver! :))

now that seems like a ramble -- i got up wrong side today, i guess -- just don't take it too seriously, my bird :)

Maybe they're just confused by the changes in flora and fauna and end up taking a circuitous route.
