eden's rain

forgive me
for running out
to meet the thunder

forgive me for thinking
that lightning there burned brighter

than anything
in your garden

where even my fingertips
could drink the dew

so soft was I

forgive me for asking, now
but didn't you love, sometime
this blackened world

where wild-eyed creatures
race down cliffs
to flee the flames

and didn't you
hold forgiveness in your hands
when you shaped my bones

and you, I know it is you
who listens

to Eden's rain still
running in my veins

I like Nature, wild nature also.
And sometimes I scare, particularly dangerous forces of nature. But your beautiful poem brought a fresh perspective on beauty of nature...
'Eden's amall rain running in my veins'
and I like it.

I LOVE the caption, and the poem, my dear bird

forgive -- i take it that God created us 'for giving' as we forgive like He does....

We are forgiven each time...time and again....when do we learn...But didn't we learn -- is it not just that we are silent about it! -- I like to think so,

"and you, I know it is you
who listens
still

to Eden's small rain
running in my veins"

I would love to take that 'You' is a multitude that includes me and you,

Good poem, mybird...love every word of it,

love,
devika

PS: so soft was I -- to me, i can say point blank...you were the softest here :)

Krystyna--I think maybe we need our wild places to be just a little more wild than we are, to wake us up! You are right about the scary part, especially now with all the terrible disasters happening in the world this week!
Love your comment...

Devika--what an awesome comment--you have gotten to the heart of what I was saying in the poem, and said it so well!
I love what you say about forgiveness--you are so right that we are made to forgive just as our creator does--
And I dearly hope that the multitude you are thinking of, will continue to listen--it is a wish I did not dare to envision, but very much worth holding on to...
So great to have you back, thanks for taking time in between all your responsibilities!

Devika--yes, I DO thank you! For coming here and being such a generous friend, and also for the beauty and depth you share with us on your blogs--you are a blessing!

Lorraine--and the soul of this poem is tickled to death to have your soul visit! (and you warm my heart also) Love your way with words...and images--do you still have your "large format" photo blog? I was missing it.

I like how this language conveys feeling right away even before you understand what the poem's about - at least that's how it struck me.

Devika--No, I haven't forgotten you, (never could, you know!) I'm working on another poem but haven't had a minute to sit down and concentrate! But I will do so at the first chance, I promise!

Lorraine--Thanks for the link! Love your photographs!

Paul--I love your comment and the way it zeroes in to something I was trying for--you have a special talent for doing that!

I guess we're all looking to crawl back into that magical foliage that angels refuse our entrance. Your words are Eden's rain to me.

Devika--thank you for your loving patience, and for believing in me!

Pat--I hear that some angels can be bribed--if you find the right temptation...
Thanks for the inspiring comment!
