How beautiful, I know what you mean there is something so ethereal about it, and no matter how much I try, I can't quite show it the way it looks, this is superb, bravo sweet Bird ;)
Devika--now you have me curious what is a salwar suit? Yes it is amusing to picture you in all these outfits, like a paper doll... (you know I have only the one picture to imagine you by!)
Lorraine--Thanks for empathizing--but I can't picture you not capturing the reality of a scene--you seem to magnify it instead, in your fabulous photos! Especially your sunset photo recently...
Devika--Yes, now I understand what a salwar suit is! We see them often on the street here in NYC--I think they are very attractive, but a bit strange on the model in the photo link you sent, since her legs are too long!...Indian women are gracefully built in general, I would say, and the salwar suit is a nice invention. I would wear it happily...
Now about paper dolls--they are the only kind I liked as a child--just silhouettes cut out of paper so you can draw fashions sized to the outlines and "put them on" with tabs as a change of clothes. It's a fun way to use your imagination--what do you think?
You reminded me of a paper doll, because I only see your flat picture image, and have to imagine the rest! Also that you are very pretty, and your dress is so interesting...and in black and white tones, just ready for a child to have fun coloring!
Long legs are seen as a beauty for models, I guess -- And that model, i guess its the high heels on top of her long and lean legs that make it little odd :)
now playing with clothes, paper ---fashion designing would have been a choice if I didn't go for engineering....the only demand that my father had on my education.....I wanted to take up physics, literature or fine arts and architecture --
and children colouring --- come vacations and they are here with all sorts of stuff -- I have a bunch of cuties from the society coming for story/poetry reading/telling...painting....and we hold competitions on days like Republic Day, Independence Day, Children's day :)
Its during Holi (Festival of colours marking the end of winter that they "paint" and "pour" colour on us -- we all play infact :)
Devika--thanks for the wishes--I just had our Thanksgiving celebration yesterday, with turkey and everything else-- sounds like you and the children do a lot of fun activities! Do they actually pour paint on you and each other?
Krystyna--I love your simple English grammar--"heat my heart" has a nice ring to it!--and the meaning is lovely, too!
Yes, we do have lots of fun....its natural colour -- either dry or in water -- and just pasted/poured on each other.....and ends in a fresh water bath :)
I have been reading back through your poems. Needless to say I am always impressed by your skill. And I love that word "bizarrities" I think I will write something about that what that word means to me one day.
Devika--That sounds like a great idea to do with kids--is the coloring something like the henna dyes that they use for body decoration?
TomScot--I appreciate your lovely comment, please feel free to come and browse any time! And I'm glad you liked my invented word--it just seemed to say what I meant!
No this dry colours, dear...comes in many shades...Henna decorations are different -- its a design they do and in just orangish/browish shade and doesn't go so easily!
The holi colours are just pasted dry or may be mixed in water and poured -- doesn't stay longer...just a wash or two! :)
so when is the new poem coming, dear bird?
anyway, Wish You and all in the family a Merry Christmas! :)
