Devika--yes, I can imagine them fishing, since we have smaller shore birds (egrets and herons)near my house that catch fish standing on their long legs in the water...

Lorraine--yes they are--and sometimes can be fierce? I'm not sure about this one, no opportunity to get close...
What a gorgeous crane...there's something somewhat mystical about herons, cranes and egrets isn't there...
