chasing down angels
unstable,
they call me
it's true
I melt
at a kind word
the full force
of a smile
or the delicious
tickle
of a laugh
unstable,
they grumble
if my hands
slip
holding my heart
or if
I grow wings
and linger
too long
chasing down angels
for a drop
of sweetness
they call me
it's true
I melt
at a kind word
the full force
of a smile
or the delicious
tickle
of a laugh
unstable,
they grumble
if my hands
slip
holding my heart
or if
I grow wings
and linger
too long
chasing down angels
for a drop
of sweetness

Melted my heart, Beautiful!
Gosh, Pat--you caught me while i was still editing--you are FAST!
OK, this is a good way to start the morning--hope I'm not late for work, now!
(and thanks for the lovely comment)
My dear bird,
This is supposed to be me My bird..
They, all those they, call me so...
'Unstable' --- but i find the world unstable..what a paradox!anyway,
BUT, this is too nice a one! Liked it so much, i want to remain Unstable :-))
love,
devika
Devika--love your comment--
but of course, unstable as I am, I'm not as free as you, O formless one!
(I can feel your breeze blowing by...)
Hi my bird...
who said i'm free -- only in the virtual world, my bird..it is my sky to fly ;-)
btw, CKW again has a new one...sort of an eviction ;-)
wishes!
devika
Devika--but of COURSE I was referring to the virtual world, where else can we be free?
Your new post is lovely--how can it be an "eviction"? That means throwing something out...but your poem is embracing...
(I hope you are not throwing "yourself" out--you do not realize how "young" you are!)
Embracing my bird...but the embraced doesn't seem to need it! ;-)
anyway, grey is the reality we face...embrace or evict!
today, i felt like throwing myself...off my third floor window..but Woolf stopped me :-)
love,
devika
Devika--sending you embraces whether you need them or not--I need all I can get! (Physical or virtual are both welcome--virtual is easier and faster...)
Thank God for Woolf--stay away from those windows! (to be continued in e-mail)
I love this Firebird - absolutely beautiful and moving.
"delicious tickle of a laugh" - what a neat phrase!
I like this one too - there seems to be something different about it in terms of style, hard to pinpoint.
Hi Firebird!
you changed the title of this one !?
you naughty bird...the day i chase you down..you are sure to get from me ;-))
love,
devika
Devika--You have caught me now (being naughty, that is...)
Yes, I changed the title--back to the original one. I was worried that "chasing down" would not be understood by persons not from the U.S.--but I guess I shouldn't have worried--you use the phrase so perfectly!
Also, the word "down" can be a noun, which might be confusing, since I did not want the reader to think I was chasing angels made of goosedown...
Paul--Of course, you are teasing me-but I'll take the bait anyway...
1) OK, the lines are VERY SHORT.
(I got intrigued with short lines when viewing my blog from my cell phone, and it rearranged the lines in the PREVIOUS post to three words at most (that's all it could handle--now it won't even go to the site at all!) It gave the poem a different feel--somewhat more intimate--
2) Unlike my usual style, there are NO references to "nature" in this poem--unless you count the goosedown (NO, don't count that--)
Funny about feathers--they seem to sneak in everywhere--even in YOUR blog...
Janice--your comment melts MY heart--what more can I say!
hmmm...YOOUUU
NOW, its about me using the phrase perfectly, huh? and then the lecture on noun form!!
naughty, naughty bird!! ;-))
i will see you some day for sure, if not in this world..the world up...heard, UP!
love, my bird
devika
Devika--never again will I speak of noun forms, my dear...and you must grow wings so we can fly UP together (or were you planning to go without me?)
How I can go without YOU my dear...
if i am to fly in the virtual sky..i need you beside me...and I dream of a flight where all birds can fly together so packed...that Friday skywatchers get only birds -- my bird, please note that bird here has no gender suggestions -- for their picture!
some of their skies are so confusing! ;)
wishes!
devika
Then we will be angels, who have the most beautiful aspects of both male and female, as we have all had already many lives in each gender...
and I love your image of filling the sky with wings...
may it be so
Oh my bird...
you sound so aloof...and wish me all good...
Oh my God -- what in the world am I to do to make my bird happier..So much of love from me, my bird..will make you a love-bird and you will have to change your name..
named herself 'firebird' -- what fire do you have in you my bird ;-)
you are so soft and kind...and so loving...is it the fire of love you hold?
i think so..because i have so much in me..take in whatever form my dear..
and if in the fire we are to die...i love death.
wishes!
devika
if you had not sent me a personal mail..i wouldn't be this alive to speak with you...so why fear a further death..and love is life..
see i'm going mad again...sometimes feel the world make me so happy..sometimes so crazy...
"Love is life"...I think there's a poem in there somewhere--hang on...
HI Firebird...
i will 'chase it down' (i mean the poem) myself, my dear naughty bird..that too is not a wrong usage, i suppose ;)
seriously, i will going to the archives when ever i am free..and leave a comment too...
for the past few weeks i was totally tossed in mind and spirits..so much pending things at home..this week would go for that..
will soon be doing, dear
love,
devika
I'm in awe of your open heart...this is so beautiful Fireb
Lorraine--Thank you, you are so very kind, and your comments mean so much to me!
