as requested by a lovely bird who flew by and tagged me (8 random things about myself)
It's all true--
what they say about Firebird
is true
that she once got seasick
in a canoe
her second baby
came out
bright blue
she can read any book in
a day or two
her Dad taught her how to build
an igloo
she loves the kazoo
and the didgeri-doo
and her favorite dessert is
tiramisu
It's true, it's true-
she does have a crush
on Pepe Le Pew
she adores snakes, bats,
and spiders, too
and all of the creatures
that live in the zoo
and, of course, you!

what a charming way to start my day - sipping a cup of kona coffee and reading your post - makes me laugh and smile.
thank you!
(but oh, oh, please say the second baby flushed pink shortly after coming out! - or is that symbolic language - the second baby was a boy? i analyze too much, clearly.)
Bird-so glad you liked it!--
In answer to your question--yes, he was blue because the cord was wrapped around his neck--and was just fine once that was cut (although made for some tense moments)
I missed the whole thing, as I had my eyes closed and no-one wanted to clue me in (for obvious reasons)
Thanks for asking!
now that's a cute way to meme... does that make it a rheme? Either way, I loved it!
Gracie--Sure, "rheme" sounds good!
Now that you mention it, if you haven't been tagged already, consider yourself tagged by me!
(-with or without rhyming--)
Now that's a way to answer a tag!! I try to ignore them because there aren't 8 or 10 things I know about myself.
yes, that is really great! I like it. You will never be caught by no fist, won't you.
whee!!! don't stop!!! this is too good! i am giddy from your creativity. thanks firebird! big hugs, snow
Pat--Thanks--It was Bird's request that I do this as a poem...
I bet you can too -- so I'm tagging you, and you can do some research on yourself--your family and friends would be happy to share their favorite "Pat" tidbits!
Susanne--great to see you back! I'm happy you enjoyed it...I will tag you if you wish to do the same...
ss--thanks for the hugs and the great comment--it made my day!
(I would tag you but I know you've already done this meme...)
Hello, firebird,
I already answered to that stick when it made the rounds in german blogs.
Here some very swift translation:
8 things you may not want to know about me:
I am driving my car much too fast (it is said)
but driving fine, at last (I do think secretly)
I like to be fast neatly (i nearly feel ashamed about this)
any maybe I am nitpicking, yes (that isn't true)
I dont believe in much to do (not true neither)
and often feel sad either (that is correct, yeah)
and often try to tame my hair (it refrains from looking bold)
and laugh at each and every joke I'm told (so what?)
Susanne--Thank you so much for sharing your "8 things" about yourself--
I am very impressed with how many rhymes you put into these lines, especially in the German but also in the English translation!
(the autotranslator wrote that your hair "never sits"--I like that! My hair also is always running in its own direction...)
ha, the translator worked fine at this: in german we say 'something does not sit' when we want to say that something is misfit.
And, o yes, I hope your hair will not run in too many different directions. So that you may never be able to sit down and rest but always have to run after your hair.
(me I would like to cut my hair short, but, oh, you know...)
Hi Firebird! I love how you wrote this wonderful poem for the random things about yourself -- wonderfully clever! I'm so glad your baby was ok after being born blue. And how neat to have built an igloo -- great fun.
:)
Clare--thanks so much--
The igloo WAS very cool--and built in the front yard of a New York City housing project, no less!
Susanne--I once cut my hair very short--but it ran in so many directions, it looked like I had a bald spot on my head!
