gracie, gautami-- That's a good question--I'll have to look into that, since I don't know what they are...they are growing in containers at the Botanical Garden, I will inquire. The birds seem to have left them alone, though... Thanks for the comments!
Pat, Gracie, Gautami-- I stopped in to find out what these berries are--they are a kind of holly, related to the holiday decorations-- I was told that the birds can eat them, but not humans!
