dark of the year

what is this hell
but a beginning

soft pit of night
where words
give way and fall

dark arms open
like flowers

molecules rise
like stars from your soul
drops of bone

a whisper of thunder

flash
of a sudden smile

storm of
two hands touching

I've heard that said. "dark arms open like flowers" sometimes, strangely enough, there's a comfort in the "hell" we know. These images exude fire, I hope not all bad.

mb,pat--I changed the title to give a clue what the "hell" in the poem refers to...this time of year is always dark for me (with the sun far away).

But this year felt like a renewal.

Trying to feel the new life growing... and it sure helps to`have you with me!

"Storm of 2 hands touching"
Wow-

A dear friend I love is far away- he is just a friend...nothing more-but he is struggling with a serious illness.

Sometimes, when I see him in my sleep-my wanting to touch his hand- to hug him- makes me feel like a storm in my heart will burst open.

I felt it again- awake- when I read that last line.

Merry Christmas to you Firebird :)
(And I LOVED the pic K9 did for you at his place :) Isn't he the BEST? We are blessed~

And also thanks for letting me know about k9's fabulous CD cover for me--I had no idea until you told me! Yes, we are blessed indeed by k9...what great Christmas presents!

Je comprends mal la langue anglaise ,
mais j'ai retenu le mot "smile " .
Un très très beau mot !
Smile ouvre toutes les portes !
Langage internationnal !

Joyeuses fêtes en famille et avec les amis !
