Baby ladybugs are ... um ... not as attractive as adult ladybugs.

m.snay--They are definitely not as photogenic! But they are quite attractive in person--they have a cute way of crawling around, in search of bugs to eat--the ones you DONT want on your flowers!
Thanks for stopping by!

pat--Most people haven't seen them either--but now that you know what they look like, you might!

anonymous canine friend--Thanks, you are a true and loyal gentleman!
Some guys could take a lesson from you--if you know what I mean?

are ladybug babies about now?

i need some on my potato vine -which seems to be a favorite for aphids.

today, a very small bird with a yellow breast and hood popped by and hung out in the potato vine. i hope she was eating aphids.

Bird--I don't know how warm it has to be for ladybugs and their babies to be out--but birds can get the jump on the insects!
Seems early to have aphids this time of year--how warm is it where you are?

Interesting, but yikes! I have to go along with the consensus: let's here it for full grown ladybugs!

firebird - hahahaha - my daughter and i saw the ballet the other week - firebird - which quite made me think of you! (the firebird was absolutely stunning - you'd have been pleased!)

it's still a bit cold here - 50s at night and 60s in the day. just a few pesky aphids. but i hate 'em, hate 'em, hate em! they want to suck my potato vine dry. my sweet, beautiful vine that trails so loverly over the balcony wall and also stretches it's delicate tendrils toward the wicker chair, framing it just a bit, ust a bit.

but i shan't let those wretched aphids suck my sweet vine dry. i shall prevail!

Bird--I love that ballet, too!
It's an inspiration...

It's easy to kill aphids with a soapy water bath--and/or a blast of water--
Needs to be repeated if they grow back again, as they usually do--but it doesn't hurt the plants--
good luck!
