A side track: do you think this could be a senryu as opposed to a haiku? I wonder about poems like this, where they fit ... such classification being an "intellectual exercise" because I try to understand but I really don't know much about it, and in the end I think a poem is a poem is a poem and the classification doesn't really matter! ;-)
yes, mb--you are right about the senryu form! I had forgotten about these things--I just used the "generic" word-- haiku--because that's what most people recognize. I think the classifications can be a way of focusing our mind when we create, and it's kind of a fun tradition.
I agree forms can focus the mind, and haiku (or senryu ;-) is one of my favorite forms for some reason. There's a challenge for me in the form, like a little puzzle, that I enjoy. You did a really nice job with this one! I wasn't sure about the senryu classification in this case because the definitions I read of it mention dark humor.
The first line really prepares us for the next two...I believe there was not much of a resistance and there never will be when you reach out in love...what a way to say it!
Thanks, mb-- Maybe I'm in the gray area between forms!
plus ultra--I'm so pleased that you came and left such a beautiful comment! I am looking forward to exploring your site further... I am honored to hear from another poet on the other side of the world! Thank you.
