Hayden--I wish I knew what the name of the butterfly is--but it's a new one to me! I'll try to research it for you--don't quite know how...

A lovely picture of one of the most beautiful creatures on earth with an equally beautiful mission, to pollinate for the birth of more beautiful flowers, ad to prepare the finest of garments mankind has ever known -silk, a creature that lives in three different bodies in a single life - that of a crawling creature, a prisoner in a cocoon and then at the end of its labor to fly free into the wide world stopping every now and then for the nectar and beauty that mother earth has to offer to its beloved.

Ashok--I love your description of these fine friends of ours--and I try to grow many flowers that they can feed on--like this butterfly bush!

Hayden--I Google searched for butterfly identification and found this site:
http://www.gardenswithwings.com/identify-butterflies.html

It gives choices of wing shape, color, etc. I identified this butterfly as the Great Spangled Fritillary...

So we might not need books so much after all, when we have the internet!
