tiger eyes
I want a river
sliding downhill
through broken earth
clear hills of water
pushing against my wrists
when I kneel to drink
the gold in your eyes
the damp soil around my fingers
claw marks in the sand

"clear hills of water pushing on my wrists" something about this is so captivating... i love it... love the way it pulls me right in close to it. wow!
Thanks, snowsparkle, your comment made my day!
That phrase drew me in, too. I like the way this feels so alive, and yet I can't quite separate what is "you" and what is "river"... whose eyes? whose claws? Which gives me a very nice sense of closeness, connectedness and flow. Immersion.
I guess we all have a thing about river images, don't we! I'm glad you like mine...you can come swim here any time!
I also love the feeling when everything is connected...I think that is why rivers are so compelling.
Regressive and progressive.
