hi firebird! i love these photos...where are you located? in georgia, pines are under seige by beetles. and now damn if there isnt a hemlock blight heading this way. i try to imagine a southern landscape without our evergreens. its too painful. we already lost the loblolly pines.
I agree, it is too painful to think about losing any of these treasures! I'm sorry, I didn't know about the loblolly pines-- This month's photos are from Connecticut; the forest looked pristine, but I imagine since the hemlocks in my home base in NY State are being killed by bugs (slowly) these also may become targets. Oh, it hurts!
