spirit
lost spirit,
part
of my ancient heart
what
can I give you?
dear one,
hold close in your arms
for me
the joy
of your eyes
first opening
the sun's whisper
lifting the grass
each morning
this is
what I need
lost spirit
ribbon of snow
drifting
past
stones and shadow
how
will I find you?
dear one,
hold close in your arms
for me
the melody
that makes a deer leap
in spring
the song you sing
when love is
the only language
the weightless light
that floats you
through the sky
and when your arms
can reach no more
and you see
with your own heart
blindly
then
you will surely find me
part
of my ancient heart
what
can I give you?
dear one,
hold close in your arms
for me
the joy
of your eyes
first opening
the sun's whisper
lifting the grass
each morning
this is
what I need
lost spirit
ribbon of snow
drifting
past
stones and shadow
how
will I find you?
dear one,
hold close in your arms
for me
the melody
that makes a deer leap
in spring
the song you sing
when love is
the only language
the weightless light
that floats you
through the sky
and when your arms
can reach no more
and you see
with your own heart
blindly
then
you will surely find me

I thought we had already found each other, my dear...
or is there more to find?
Loved this one my bird...
it passes the spirit to love and life so much :)

gosh, that's gentle and oh so beautiful ... such lovely echoes in your words, wow girl :)
Ah--Devika--you are such a sweet friend!
Thank you so much for appreciating...
Lorraine--your comments are so eloquent, many thanks, love when you come to visit!
There is something very frightening about this I think. Can only find where there is nothing left and it matters no more.
fear in my heart, strange and gentle
Echo--your comment is very interesting--
I meant this poem to be a reassurance against fear--that if we gather all the beauty and joy we can find in life, to the point where we are seeing with our heart only--then we can be complete and without fear...
If this did not communicate, then I may have to revisit the poem!
(I take full responsibility!)
I truly appreciate your comment, thanks!
(No need to cover your eyes, little bear...)
"How..."--not having a name for you--I still thank you for your kind visit and comment! Welcome, come any time...
Dear little Echo bear--
I rewrote the poem, I don't think it's scary any more...we'll see
