sunrise in fog
the sky is on fire
in the east
a scarlet stain bleeding
through a million prisms
flowing molten
into an ocean of white
birds like flying ashes
dart from tree to tree
and your heart
if it could
would pass like a net
through the shimmering blaze
to hold the flames
for an hour
like these cliffs
burned clean
each dawn
in a furnace of dew
in the east
a scarlet stain bleeding
through a million prisms
flowing molten
into an ocean of white
birds like flying ashes
dart from tree to tree
and your heart
if it could
would pass like a net
through the shimmering blaze
to hold the flames
for an hour
like these cliffs
burned clean
each dawn
in a furnace of dew

I like it. Nothing like dawn.
Hi Matt--Thanks so much for coming by and commenting--welcome back any time!
Glad you like the poem...
You make me wait in pain for winters here in Delhi...
Loved it: "each dawn
in a furnace of dew"

Devika--Welcome back--I missed you too! Your comment is lovely...will check out your blogs--hope you had a nice visit home!
Thank so much Firebird..Last day was a bit busy...after replying you there at mine, I missed to be here!
Yes, a nice visit..with just mom and me..wanted that to be longer..but then, I started missing my husband (only we two, no kids after 10 years of marriage, and I'm 40) and friends here on the blog and around...
Your comments too are very perceptive :-) Liked it much...

Devika--Reading the comments on your blog, I see you have many friends who missed you very much! Glad to have you back.
Hi Firebird!
Yeah I have some good friends...online and off...Its all about give and take...
'so much to give, and so little to take' is the rule though...
And reaching out to people helps! some may prove otherwise..but every experience is worthy..have a role in making each of us the 'I' we claim to be, no?
I got you because you reached out to me one fine morning...and I was there at yours, before you knew it...
I don't know..I just love talking with you...
i love to see great minds meet and share...as Gandhi met Tagore,
many many more...and these fine exchanges on the Web...I saw you at Janice's today...
so you love snakes too...I dread them, but can't help looking at then with awe!
