Your images are so consistently good and what you write is so consistent in tone or theme. I think it would be easy to pick out something you wrote in an anonymous group of poems. I'm curious about how you do this. Can you write pretty much at will? Or does it just "happen" frequently and regularly?

Paul--What a wonderful compliment! I am so pleased--but you pose a difficult question...

There are times when a poem seems to want urgently to be written, and the words flow easily.
Other times (especially recently), I have to make myself sit down and write, even when I'm not in the mood--and then find some inspiration in the absolute crap I just wrote! Just enough to keep rewriting until it flows again...

Like the rest of my life, it's always a combination of stubborn persistence, and miracles...

I posed a difficult question especially since I posted it to the picture instead of the poem.

Thanks for answering rather than taking it as a Zen koan...

It's interesting how people work, some similarities and differences. With me both poetry and the thoughts in my prose manuscripts always just came. If I sit down and try to write something good I'm totally unable to and it would come out like the stuff I wrote for classes in college.
