you are the reason
you are the reason I am made
this morning
from fallen acorns and moss
lifted through shades of sunlight
dappled
you are the reason I am made
this day
not abandoned from the sky, not lost
but built from molecules
and flames
your fingers grow into mine
like soft roots
reaching down with the trees, past fire
to deep negotiations with
the sea

lifted through shades of sunlight
dappled
you are the reason I am made
this day
not abandoned from the sky, not lost
but built from molecules

your fingers grow into mine

"You fingers grow into mine like soft roots reaching down with trees" I can feel this image happening as I read it. It is very mystical and very beautiful.
"Past fire to deep negotiations with the sea" i find this to be rich with potential for interpretations. My favorite is that the fire could be our conscious mind. Often it can seem to be ablaze with different thoughts and emotions. But past that is the sea of our subconscious, which empties out into the greater depths of the collective unconscious. And this divine source, or reason, reaches to us, through us, down past us, and down into the very deepest parts of us. And when it gets there, it conducts "deep negotations"! Cool.
Yeah, you pretty much put your finger(s) on it.
Lee, the more I read your comment, the more I like it! You really saw what I was seeing while writing it.
(and you took it farther)
It's hard to express these ideas and feelings in a coherent way, but you make it seem as easy as breathing!
