when you look at me

when you look at me
my heart spills like a wineglass
falling into snow

when you look at me
rosepetals drift like seabirds
into April air

when you look at me
my eyes waver, butterflies
in pools of sunshine

Lovely. So very lovely.

These images capture a feeling. They evoke a feeling. Or rather The Feeling. Their power to manifest that feeling in the reader makes them magic. Once again, lovely poem.

You have a rare talent for being both evocative and precise, in all your comments. They are as beautiful as poems in themselves! I truly mean that.
Thank you.

A happy thank you to Tomscot for showing me you can make several haikus into one poem (he invented it, not knowing it was already a tradition)--

And appreciation to MB for telling me the name of this form: a "haiku chain".
