jewels
Gabriel sent
Jewels bright as iris sky
Flashing feathers and a cry
Gabriel laid
Snow under the full moon
Pebbles inside a torrent
Honey and sunrise
Rested on my shoulder
When my eyes crashed open
To fire in a blue sky
Gabriel by the flame
Tipping birds down and laughing
Jewels bright as iris sky
Flashing feathers and a cry
Gabriel laid
Snow under the full moon
Pebbles inside a torrent
Honey and sunrise
Rested on my shoulder
When my eyes crashed open
To fire in a blue sky
Gabriel by the flame
Tipping birds down and laughing

To me, this is a wonderful vision of creation.
"Snow under the full moon" is simple but breathtaking.
I especially love the last two stanzas. I see the birth of consciousness. A soul, in the first moments of its existence. The sweetness and newness of this moment signified by "honey and sunrise". And "my eyes crashed open" gives a feeling of how jarring it could be the instant one sees the world for the first time.
And to see one's creator, still in the act of creation, flame and blue sky, and giving life to the birds, and all the while....laughing. So that's how I read it, and to me that's explosively beautiful.
One question, why did you choose to use Gabriel, of all the angels or divinities
I don't know all the angels or divinities-- Gabriel came to mind as the most friendly (and recognizable) one. I looked him up, he's the messenger Archangel of the moon.
Maybe it really was him. (These things we'll never totally understand.)
Your comment is so moving. Bless you for understanding.
